A product of the Leningrad Mint, the 1990 Russian Ballerina palladium coin is comprised of ½ oz. of .999 palladium. Each coin measures 30mm in diameter with a face value of 10 roubles. The rouble is the official currency of the Russian Federation and was also used during the former Russian Empire and Soviet Union regimes.
The obverse of the rouble features Princess Odette, the lead ballerina in Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s ballet, Swan Lake. The ballet originally debuted in Moscow in 1877. A huge success, Swan Lake continues to be a popularly performed ballet. In addition to Princess Odette, the words “RUSSIAN” and “BALLET” are on opposite sides of the coin, engraved in Russian characters.
The reverse features the national emblem of the former Soviet Union. The emblem displays a hammer and sickle centered on a globe surrounded by a circle of wheat. The letters CCCP are engraved below. According to the Russian Cyrillic alphabet, these letters represent the old abbreviation for the Soviet Union. In addition, the face value and date of mintage are also engraved.
With an extremely low mintage, the 1990 Russian Ballerina Palladium Coin is a rare collectible that is guaranteed to diversify any portfolio. Call Provident Metals at (877) 429-8790 or use our secure online ordering system to invest with us today!
