The reverse of this classic coin features a giant panda reclining on a large rock, enjoying a moment in the sun as it eats bamboo leaves clutched in its large paw. The rim reads .999 AG 1 OZ, and the denomination of 10 YUAN is inscribed to the left.
The obverse shows a close view of the iconic Temple of Heaven, the stairs featured crisply, while the three tiers of the roof reach toward the sky. The rim reads “the People’s Republic of China” in Chinese characters, along with the year 1998.
