The iconic American Gold Eagle celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2011 following its inception in 1986. The 2011 American Gold Eagles at Provident Metals contain 1 troy ounce of .9999 fine gold and are graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) with a Mint State 70 designation.
Each 2011 1 oz American Gold Eagle is certified early release and are considered to be among the most beautiful American coins ever struck. Perfect for investing and collecting, these 25th anniversary coins are legal tender with a denomination of $50.
The obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ creation of Lady Liberty walking with flowing hair while holding a torch and an olive branch in each hand. The Capitol building appears at the bottom left of the coin and the inscriptions of “LIBERTY” and “2006” surround the design.
Miley Busiek’s depiction of a flying eagle grasping an olive branch just above a nest of its family is showcased on the reverse. It is inscribed with the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” along with the coin’s weight and denomination.
Authorized in 1985, the U.S. Mint produced the first American Gold Eagle in 1986. The stunning coins provide investors and collectors with the opportunity to own gold at an affordable price while diversifying their portfolio.
The 2011 American Gold Eagle Bullion Coins aren't the only items celebrating a 25th anniversary. Along with Bueller, Pixar Animation Studios was purchased by Steve Jobs, the first PC virus occurred and the first disposable camera was developed, among many others.
While all of these 25th anniversary items are unique, the 2011 American Gold Eagle NGC MS 70 is the most valuable. Invest today using Provident Metals’ online purchasing system and own a beautiful piece of history.
