Provident Metals is thrilled to offer our collectors the limited release of these spectacular 25th Anniversary Silver Eagle First Strike Sets in perfect MS/PR70 condition, signed by the US Mints Chief Engraver John Mercanti. These extremely rare sets were introduced by the United States Mint to celebrate the 25th anniversary of one of America’s most beloved coins. Even more noteworthy, they have been certified by the Professional Coin Grading Service as MS/PR 70, giving them the highest score possible on the Sheldon Scale. A coin grade of MS-70 indicates that the coins in this set are in pristine and flawlessly preserved mint-state. As an added benefit, each coin's certification label has been hand signed by John M. Mercanti who is personally responsible for adapting Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty design for the obverse of the American Silver Eagle. Mercanti is also the designer of the reverse side of the American Silver Eagle. Additionally, each set will be accompanied by a letter signed by Mercanti. Collectors around the world eagerly awaited their release, whereupon they were immediately selling for prices nearly twice the price asked by the U.S. Mint. Therefore, this set is worth considerably more to collectors than its proverbial weight in silver. The five-coin set will include one each of the the following qualities: one proof (mint mark “W”), one reverse proof (“P”), two uncirculated coins (mint marks “W” and “S”), and one bullion (no mint mark). Each one-ounce American Silver Eagle coin is minted in .999 fine silver bullion , and each meets the rigorous design standards and striking procedures one would expect from the United States Mint.

In addition to their extremely limited release of 100,000 sets , the cherished design of the American Eagle makes these sets particularly valuable. The obverse (front) of the American Silver Eagle is graced by a modern interpretation of the original Walking Liberty designed by the eminent sculptor, Adolph A. Weinman in 1916 for the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. It features an optimistic Lady Liberty striding confidently forward, draped in the strength of the American flag. She can be seen carrying branches of both oak and laurel as symbols of military and civic strength. The reverse side of the American Silver Eagle features an eagle sculpted by former United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver John Mercanti. He envisioned the heraldic eagle with a shield and an olive branch and arrows in its right and left talons respectively. This 25th Anniversary American Silver Eagle five-coin set is a truly stunning collection that is sure to be highly prized by collectors of fine silver coins for generations to come.
