Provident Metals is proud to offer our customers the official gold bullion coin of Canada, the 1 oz 2012 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, made from 99.99% pure gold. The Canadian Gold Maple is the coin by which all other 24-karat pure gold coins are measured. This is because the 2012 one troy ounce Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is produced by the Royal Canadian Mint as one of the only gold coins in the world that isn’t strengthened with other metal alloys. Originally introduced in 1979 as an experiment, the 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple became an instant success because of both the extraordinary craftsmanship and purity of its bullion content. Since it was never designed for circulation, the added alloys weren’t required and make these coins particularly prized by bullion investors and collectors around the world. In addition to the one-ounce coin, investors will appreciate the flexibility of purchase options with sizes available in weights of 1/10 ounce, ¼ ounce, and ½ ounce, as well. Collect all four sizes and rest assured that your coins will arrive in uncirculated, mint condition.

The 1 oz 2012 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf takes its design from its distinguished predecessors. The obverse of the coin is printed per tradition with a beautifully detailed bust of Queen Elizabeth II, the constitutional monarch of Canada and England for over 60 years. This makes hers the second longest reign in England’s monarchy and ensures her importance in history. Her diamond jubilee birthday was celebrated in 2012 making the 2012 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf noteworthy for that reason. The front of the coin is also inscribed with the words Elizabeth II across the top and clearly labeled 50 Dollars 2012 across the bottom. The reverse of the 2012 Gold Maple is detailed with the iconic maple leaf, the Canadian government symbol recognized around the world. Collectors may enjoy knowing a little history about the adoption of the distinctive maple leaf as Canada’s symbol. Speaking in favor of adopting the maple leaf as the symbol Montreal in 1834, Jacques Viger referred to the maple tree as “the king of the forest” and an appropriate symbol of the strength of the Canadian people. The maple leaf was inscribed on many coats of arms, and became the official symbol of Canada when it was added to the Canadian flag in 1965. With its distinctive five points, the maple leaf has been struck in beautiful detail each year with great pride by the Canadian Royal Mint. In addition, the reverse is also clearly labeled 9999 on either side of the maple leaf and 1 OZ OR PUR across the bottom. It is with great pride that we offer this beautiful investment in gold bullion to you.
