The Canadian Silver Maple has been released with varying designs since 1988 by the Royal Canadian Mint. The uncirculated 2012 Canadian Silver Maple is as distinguished as those that came before it. The front of the coin is printed with a beautifully detailed bust of Queen Elizabeth II, the constitutional monarch of Canada and England for over 60 years--making hers the second longest reign in England’s monarchy and an important historical figure by any measure. Her diamond jubilee birthday was celebrated in 2012 making the 2012 Silver Maple coin noteworthy for that reason. The obverse or front of the coin is also inscribed with the words Elizabeth II across the top and 5 Dollars 2012 across the bottom. The reverse of the 2012 Silver Maple coin is detailed with the iconic maple leaf, the Canadian government symbol recognized around the word. The numbers 9999 are prominently featured on either side of the maple leaf, drawing attention to the purity of the maple’s silver bullion. One of the design elements stamped on all silver maple coins since their first minting is the phrase "Fine Silver 1 oz Argent Pure" and is inscribed across the bottom of the coin.

Coins were in good shape. My only qualms were the slow processing time for my check and that they sent the coins in two bubble sealed packages rather than a box...other suppliers have sent the coins in a rigid box.
Other than that, the coins looked fine. Happy overall. -

And while the coin certainly has nice detail some of the coins have imperfections and a smokey haze over them that doesn't seem to go away. I thought maybe it was the design, but it's just a few of the coins that seem to have this little problem. I will probably not order Maples again as I expect perfection quality wise when purchasing silver in this quantity and price.

The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf has a beautiful and sharp look. The picture does not capture the beauty of the coin, and it rivals the beauty of the American Eagle. Personally I believe that the Maple Leaf is far better in quality than the American Eagle because it has a proof like finish and is more pure. Whether you are an investor or collector you are sure to love the Silver Maple.
I had just ordered 4 more Silver Maples from Provident, and their prices cannot be matched anywhere. Provident Medals is the only online place I will purchase coins, and I look forward to more business in the future. Thanks! -

As a couple other reviewers have mentioned, I feel a little bit bad in saying that I like these coins a *lot* more than American Eagles. (ASEs are proportioned wrong -- too big, too thin, like manhole covers). These Maples are have the perfect form factor, stunning finish and overall quality, etc. They feel very substantial in your hand. I'll be ordering more as I have ability to, and as the dips come. Provident's service, packaging, and shipping costs are top-notch as well.

Just received my first order of 2012 SML's. I have many of the 2012 Cougars and other privy marked SML's. This coin is just gorgeous. No milk spots, mint fresh. It has quickly become the coin I buy most of for investment purposes. Less expensive than the Silver Eagle with a higher face level, plus it is purer silver at .9999 . That is one coin the everyone must have in their collection! And no one is better than provident metals to deliver this coin. The price is just right, and the shipping is way too fast. I got an email from them stating that they just shipped my package, and few hours, yes hours later I got my package via ups. The quality of the Canadian 1oz Silver (Ag) is very high quality. Provident Metals on average is cheaper than @PM3X, in this case, 2 dollars cheaper for the same coin.

Orders are shipped only after receipt of good funds. Orders paid by bank wire, credit card or postal money orders usually ship within 3-5 business days. Orders paid by personal check, cashier’s check or bank money order are held until funds fully clear (at least 6 business days and as many as 10 business days) before processing.
