Their sophisticated design is inspired by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Austria’s great cultural institutions. The obverse, or front, features the Great Organ housed at the world renowned Golden Hall of Vienna. The obverse is also struck with the words “1 Unze Feinsilber,” or “1 ounce pure silver” and includes the face value of €1.5 euros. The reverse side boasts the famed “bouquet of instruments,” named for the arrangement of stringed instruments to mimic a flower bouquet. This bouquet, however, is comprised of a backdrop of harp, Viennese horn, and bassoon with cellos and violins completing the front of the bouquet. The German name of the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra: 'WIENER PHILHARMONIKER' is inscribed across the top of the coin.
