The only 24 karat gold coin minted by the United States and made available to the public, Provident Metals now carries 2013 1 ounce Gold Buffalo coins. Composed of 1 troy ounce of .9999 fine gold, only 300,000 Gold Buffalos are minted at West Point each year.
Authorized by the Presidential Coin Act of 2005, the obverse of each 2013 1 ounce Gold Buffalo celebrates James Earle Fraser’s wildly popular 1913-1938 Indian Head Nickel. The beautiful design bears a profile believed to be the combination of three American Indian chiefs from different tribes: Iron Tail of the Lakota Sioux, Big Tree of the Kiowa and Two Moons of the Cheyenne.
Boasting a face value of $50, the reverse of each 2013 1 oz Gold Buffalo features Black Diamond, the 1,550-pound American Bison who spent his years living at the Central Park Menagerie. Fraser’s Indian Head Nickel honors the majesty of the great American West, where Fraser spent the majority of his youth.
Made of gold mined exclusively on American soil, 2013 1 oz American Gold Buffalo coins arrive in their original U.S. Mint packaging, while multiples of 20 come in uncut U.S. Mint sheets. Get your Gold Buffalo today and take advantage of the most timely, affordable shipping on the market.

Overallbest looking coin that I know of. I bought an air-tite for it too. I didn't realize that it would come vacuum sealed from the US mint. I'll use the air-tite for something else.
OverallThe American craftsmanship that goes into these American Gold Buffaloes by the US Mint is nothing short of spectacular and the result is one of the most "Beautiful" Gold Coins in the world, in every sense of the word. Provident Metals as always, is a pleasure to do business with and their Service is second to none. So anyone on the fence about Provident Metals or the American Gold Buffalo shouldn't be because both are First Class as far as I'm concerned and I think most would agree with me, so what are you waiting on? You can't go wrong!
