Honoring Canada’s diverse maple species, the Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled the 2014 $10 Fine Silver Coin – Silver Maple Leaf.
Composed of 1/2 troy ounce of.9999 fine silver, this coin is an excellent way to add precious metal to your portfolio — while celebrating the maple, Acer Saccharinum.
Designed by Pierre LeDuc, the reverse of each coin features three beautifully detailed silver maple leaves that appear to be floating through the sky. It is inscribed with the words CANADA, 10 DOLLARS and 2014.
The obverse of each coin features the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the inscriptions ELIZABETH II and D.G. REGINA.
The 2014 Silver Maple has a diameter of 34mm and a weight of 15.87 grams. It comes housed in a maroon clamshell with a custom beauty box. This coin is released with a limited mintage of 50,000.
