First issued by Austria in 1612, the Austrian 1 Ducat celebrates one of the most captivating, yet short-lived empires in the history of Eastern Europe. Each 1 Ducat Gold Coin contains .1107 Troy Ounces of Pure Gold and arrives in AU condition or better—a tangible asset you can handle on your own terms.
Unveiled in 1872, the obverse-design of each Austria 1 Ducat bears the profile of Emperor Franz Joseph I, who reigned portions of Central and Eastern Europe from 1848 – 1916. The reverse of each 1 Ducat includes the Austrian Coat of Arms over the double-headed imperial eagle. Each coin is 0.8 mm thick, 20 mm in diameter and relatively lightweight, making them popular collector’s items across the globe.
Austria 1 Ducats struck with the date 1915—the year before Franz Joseph I’s death—represent the final year the coin was issued for trade. 1915 Gold Ducats are restrikes, and 996,721 of the coins were issued from 1920 – 1936. 1 Ducats are produced as official restrikes by the Austrian Mint to this day.
Own a tangible piece of history from one of the most fascinating Empires the world has ever seen. Order your Austria 1 Ducat Gold Coin at only $14 over melt per coin and get in on the most timely, affordable shipping on the market.

OverallFor small timer like me, this was a no brainer. I've looked around, Provident has pretty good deals when it comes to silver or smaller gold denominations. That's the only way I can invest, one coin here, a few there. That's what makes me keep coming back to ya'll. If you need it quick, they get on it and ship super fast. I like that option 'cause when I need it now, I can get it within my time limits. If I have time, I save even more buy going to e-check. Thank you for having a variety of payment options Provident. Oh and this coin? Perfect. Flawless. 1915 or not, well worth the price.
- Perfect fit in my 1/10 gold coin collectionHectoron 3/8/14
OverallI received my coin and it was beautiful even for a restrike I cant help but stare at my coin daily just because its a perfect coin for anyone who collects fractional gold coins. Mind you it is thin and the fact is you cant fit your coin into a standard 1/10 capsule, luckily I happen to have size 22T airtite with 20 ring, basically get the 1/4 Canadian maple airtight with ring and your coin will fit perfectly in that airtite
- Very Nice!Edwardon 12/14/13
OverallI was surprised when I got this coin, the condition is literally like it just came from the mint. I order silver bullion from here often, and this was better quality than some of the uncirculated bullion I've bought. Mine looks just like the one in the picture, 1915 dated as well. Very pleased, as usual, with provident.
- Great Coin if you can not purchase a 1 0z or to have some fractionals of GoldDouglason 6/30/13
OverallThis is a nice coin, a 1936 is the newest coin you can get. being old and under 100,000 minted makes this a good deal!!
