Minted in Austria and Hungary from 1908 – 1914, the obverse of each Gold 100 Corona features a portrait of Franz Joseph, hailed as the Emperor of Austria, King of Bohemia, Croatia, Galicia and Lodomeria, Apostolic King of Hungary and Grand Duke of Cracow from 1848 – 1916. Note that these coins are re-strikes and not original. They were minted until the 1970’s but stamped with older dates. They were bought as gold bullion when the only other option was Kruggerands. You are better off buying 1 oz gold coins and bars.

I have not purchased 100 corona before, and glad I did. Nice large coins, writing on the edge instead of reeded which gives it a different look. Packaged well and shipped fast. Well accepted world wide and low premium. Low premium made me think it would be sub standard, but it is beautiful.
