Walking Liberty Half Dollars | Junk 90% Silver Halves
Walking Liberty Half Dollars posses a unique combination of numismatic, historical, and precious metals value.
The Walking Liberty Half Dollar, more commonly referred to as the “Walker” was first minted in various mints across the United States for more than 3 decades. These beautiful historic coins were originally minted in Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco beginning in 1916. Usually coins with the least number minted are more valuable but there are times this is not the case. Comparing the lowest mintage Walking Liberty half dollar, the 1921D with a mintage of 208,000 coins to one with significantly higher mintage the 1921S, the results are surprising. The 1921D if found in MS63 condition would cost about $15,000 to purchase while the higher mintage coin the 1921S would actually be almost twice as expensive at around $28,000. To find these historic coins in great condition will cost a pretty penny due to their collector value. You can however collect these same historic coins made of 90% pure silver for a fraction of those prices from Provident Metals by purchasing lesser quality coins that still have both the historic and silver value.
