Modeled after the half eagle and quarter eagle gold coins designed by Bela Lyon Prattt, these beautiful pieces feature an Indian chief wearing a ceremonial headdress and staring off to the distance. The word “LIBERTY” is emblazoned at the top of a ring of 13 stars, with “1929,” the year of the final production of the original coins, at the bottom.
The reverse is a proud American eagle, holding arrows and an olive branch in its claws, on a branch under the words “GOLDEN STATE MINT.” The phrase “E PLURIBUS UNUM” sits to the left and “IN GOD WE TRUST” is near the right. Below the branch, the round says “1/4 OUNCE .999 FINE COPPER.”
