When you get 1/10 oz Gold 2020 South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Medals through this Provident Metals listing, each item comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the mint. The gold medals are packaged individually inside of sealed protective assay packs. The pack has a capsule within it that houses the gold medal and the medal is surrounded by a blue assay card. The assay card features the weight, purity, metal content, and serial number assigned to the medal. The blue assay card also has a hologram of the Do ggae bi figure and is one of just 250 gold medals packaged in the blue assay card.
Obverse
A new Do ggae bi design is found on the obverse of the 1/10 oz Gold 2020 South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Medals. The new design of Do ggae bi image is based on artwork owned by the Gyeongju National Museum of the Republic of Korea. The image features Do ggae bi smiling wryly with enhanced nostrils, teeth, and eyebrows in the design. The inscriptions on this side of the gold medals include 2020 Fine Gold 999, Republic of Korea, 1/10 Clay, and KOMSCO.
Reverse
Chiwoo Cheonwang is featured in the reverse design of 1/10 oz Gold 2020 South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Medals. The fifth design featured in the collection, This image of Chiwoo shows him on guard at the Hell Gate. The mythical gate keeps back evil forces from the mortal world and has appeared from beneath the Chiwoo Empire. Warned by the guardian Rattus of its appearance, Chiwoo must not gather his forces and muster the 12 Guardians to defend the world against evil. The only inscription on this side is Chiwoo Cheonwang.
History
The Chiwoo Cheonwang Series of bullion medals debuted in 2016. The first year included only 1 oz silver and 1 oz gold. Since that time, fractional-ounce gold bullion medals have been introduced, as well as 2 oz and 10 oz silver medals.
