Each 1/4 Idaho Goldback Gold Note available here contains bright 24-karat gold sealed inside the note itself. The obverse side displays the main design, while the reverse presents a mirrored version of that same artwork. Individual notes arrive packaged in protective currency sleeves. Orders of 100 notes ship without sleeves and are secured together with a black bundle tie. Every Goldback also includes advanced security elements such as UV-reactive artwork, micro-printing, and a unique serial number.

Design

The design on the 1/4 Idaho Goldback Gold Note presents Justitia with the dramatic scenery of Hells Canyon behind her. Carved over millions of years by the Snake River, Hells Canyon is the deepest river gorge in North America, reaching depths of roughly 7,993 feet along the Idaho-Oregon border. Decorative elements on her belt include the syringa and the monarch butterfly. The syringa, Idahos state flower, is a native plant known for its clusters of white blossoms and light fragrance. Alongside it appears the monarch butterfly, which became Idahos official state insect in 1992.

History

Justitia, the Roman personification of Justice, is one of the most recognized allegorical figures in Western tradition. She is typically portrayed wearing a blindfold to symbolize impartial judgment. In her hands, she holds balanced scales used to weigh evidence and a double-edged sword representing the authority to enforce the law. Her name comes from the Latin word justitia, meaning fairness and righteousness, reflecting the belief that justice should be applied equally and without bias.
