Monarch Precious Metals has a reputation for producing some of the most coveted silver rounds on the market. Its designs dont cater to US coin imagery, but rather, embark on their own path with antique patina and anti-polish applications to create one-of-a-kind designs that take the viewer back thousands of years to a different place and time. Today, you have the opportunity to purchase 1/4 oz Silver Egyptian Rounds at Provident Metals.
All Silver Egyptian Rounds from Monarch Precious Metals feature designs that are hand-struck by the refiners at the mint. Each individual design is purposely struck off-center to ensure that, were you to hold two rounds next to one another, the specimens would not look exactly the same.
On the obverse of 1/4 oz Silver Egyptian Rounds is one of the most coveted and well-known depictions of an Ancient Egyptian pharaoh. The design in the center is inspired by the golden mask of King Tut, known as Tutankhamun, found in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings. The tomb of King Tut was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922 and his mask made of gold currently resides in a museum in Cairo.
The reverse design of the 1/4 oz Silver Egyptian Round in this listing is a pyramid in the center. There are two cartouches with hieroglyphs on either side of the pyramid in this design. The design on the left has hieroglyphs identifying King Tut as Tutankhamun, ruler of Upper Heliopolis, while the design on the right includes the name Nebkheperura.
King Tut is known colloquially in the modern era as the Boy King of Egypt. Tut took the throne at the age of eight or nine and was dead by the age of 18. He was the last of his royal family to rule as pharaoh during the 18th dynasty. He is the son of Akhenaten and Nefertiti, the royal couple who famously led a revolution in Egyptian religious views by introducing worship based on the Aten, or the sun disc.
1/4 oz Silver Egyptian Rounds are available to purchase in brand-new condition and ship individually inside of protective flips or in burlap sacks for multiples of 20. Any increment of rounds between 2 and 19 ships with zip-top bags.
