This series celebrates Arizonas cultural and historical roots, featuring artwork inspired by Spanish exploration, Mexican independence, and the regions eventual entry into the United States. Each 1 Arizona Goldback Gold Note 100 Pack includes notes individually protected in currency sleeves and bound together with a black band. This product is sold only in 100-note packs for easy bulk ordering. The 1 oz total weight represents a tribute to Arizonas early 19th-century period when the territory transitioned to Mexican control after gaining independence from Spain in 1821.

Design

On the obverse, the 1 Arizona Goldback features a woman in early 19th-century Mexican dress standing in front of Mission San Jos de Tumaccori. Established in 1691 by Father Kino in the Santa Cruz River Valley, it stands among Arizonas oldest European-founded communities. With its adobe construction and domed architecture, the mission saw multiple expansions before being abandoned in the 1840s amid Apache conflicts and the turbulence that followed Mexicos independence.

History

Mission San Jos de Tumaccori is the centerpiece of the design for the 1 Arizona Goldback. Now preserved as part of Tumaccori National Historical Park, the sites remains showcase adobe walls and elegant arches that tell the story of the areas colonial past and its blend of cultures.
