From 1892 to 1916, the US dime featured a right-profile bust of Liberty on one side and the denomination with a wreath on the other. Known as the Barber Dime, this 10-cent piece was part of the broader Barber Coinage created in 1892 by US Mint Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber. The Liberty design he created was used across the dime, quarter, and half-dollar denominations until 1916. Right now, you can buy a $1 Face Value of 90% Silver Barber Dimes in Average Circulated condition online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
If you purchase the $1 Face Value of 90% Silver Barber Dimes available in this product listing, you will receive a total of 10 US dimes. Each one of these dimes is guaranteed to come from the Barber Coinage, which means the available date marks run from 1892 to 1916. All of these coins are in average circulated condition with a reasonable level of wear and tear for coins that were previously used in circulation. Each coin has 90% silver content with a balance of 10% copper.
Obverse
Liberty is depicted on the obverse face of the $1 Face Value 90% Silver Barber Dimes in this listing. Designed by Charles E. Barber, the effigy of Liberty found on the obverse is in right-profile relief with a crown wreath on her head. The coin has inscriptions of United States of America and the date mark.
Reverse
For the reverse of the Barber Dime, the US Mint used a different design than the other two denominations in the Barber Coinage range. While the quarter and half dollar have a depiction of the heraldic eagle of the United States, the 90% Silver Barber Dimes have only the inscription One Dime in the center with a wreath surrounding it.
History
Charles E. Barber served as the Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. The 6th Chief Engraver, he served in the role for 37 years from the death of his father, the former Chief Engraver William Barber, until his own death in 1917.

"
Barber and Mercury dimes are preferable for older folks. The eyes have a hard time reading dates- so these are better then the Roosevelt- 90% silver dimes."

The coins I received look like they came out of the dimes in the above photo! Very circulated dimes and all but one had a readable date. I'm happy with the shipment."
