Great history. The reverse mint marks, including the “P,” are a fun detail to share with hobbyists young and old. It’s nice to have a handful of coins smaller than a full ounce or third-ounce. Demand is often lower for these coins than the 90% junk silver, given the lower purity (harder to melt) and design similarities with CuNi nickels. Still, I hear those concerns aren’t as big if silver demand is high enough. Regardless, these make a fine and very affordable addition to any collection.

Threw in a set on a recent order. Quite a hodgepodge of war nickels. Received all but 3 of the 11 years/mints. Average circulated condition you would expect, with some a bit more worn than others.

Ordered 20 Nickels, here are a few that I received: 11 1943-Ps, 1 1943-D, 1 1944-D, 1 1945-D. I was happy with the purchase.

I order 40 of these nickels and received about what I expected. Some were well worn, but again what I expected. I did receive one 1954 nickel. I notified Provident of the situation, and within 48 hours, they agreed to send me a replacement. I have ordered roughly 40 times from them, and never a problem. I highly recommend them, as they are typically the best on price and have great customer service.

Ordered 40, all in average circulated condition, with the characteristic “war nickel” discoloration, 2 or 3 coins I’d consider a little “better” than average. I know I’m not going to get rich on these, but I just want to have some “for old times sake”. When I was a kid, you’d still sometimes get one of these in your change, and when you’re a kid, a thing like that just makes your day. So it’s “fun” to shake a handful of these, for me anyway. I’ll add some more to my next order if the spot price is good enough for them to be under $1 per coin.

Added 1 roll of these to an order just to see what I would get. The majority of them were very worn, but all readable dates. I was happy with the purchase and would buy again.

One of the few US minted silver coins with a reasonable premium, these are a much better value than 90% coins. These nickels are well worn, but have readable dates. I had a slight issue with a couple of coins, but Provident took care of the problem. I would definitely buy again.

Bought $3 FV hoping to get at least one complete set of 11 out of the60 purchased …, nope, 2 date years shy, rats! Was still a good price for comparative products from coin dealers who charge 10-15% more. Some of the nickels were in pretty good shape, EF+’s, 1 was XF55, all in all none were slicks.

all other bullion companies were sold out. i tired provident for the 1st time. coins were worn, but had dates. price was right. delivery great. il use provident again.

Nice mix of dates/ mint marks. Very well worn, but you can read the dates. $1 face is over an ounce of silver. I’ll take that over 4 quarters any day !

These make a great addition to my collection, and a nice way to make small transactions using silver. I got all 4 dates, only two S mint marks the rest were all P I think. They had some wear to them, but that’s to be expected for close to melt price (These have some of the lowest premiums for silver on this website, which is why I bought them).

Received 20 nickels, all silver. About half were of various dates and mint marks and the rest were duplicates.

Good below spot silver. One coin was not silver. Most were well worn and only one was too damaged to identify.

Good cheap silver

As usual Provident came through – bought 60, 2 were ’42 but not silver. They were good and grey though so I could see how it could happen! I mentioned it to them w/o really expecting anything – next order – there are 2 ’42 silvers in my order. Thanks for the great service!

I purchased these below spot even after shipping (with check payment) and bulk pricing discount. Can’t beat silver under spot. Came as described and pictured.

These coins received a cleaning immediately followed by a hot baking soda solution in an aluminum pan, rinsed and wiped dry with a soft towel.
I remember using these when I was in grade school in the ’60’s. The ‘P’ over Monticello looked so much bigger back then.

As described, a low-premium, below-spot way to stock up on silver. Low purity and average condition (dark gray due to manganese content), but silver is silver. If that’s what your looking for, this is a great way to do it.
