Designs
On the obverse of 1 Kilo Gold Cast Bars is an image of the identifying hallmarks and the mint logo. The designs are arranged in portrait orientation on this side of the bar, with the classic Perth Mint swan logo at the top of the bar. This includes an elegant swan at the center with THE PERTH MINT and AUSTRALIA inscribed around it. The markings at the bottom of the bar read 1 KILO and 9999. There is an individual serial number along the left side of the bar. The reverse face of the bars is blank, with only natural textures or striations present as a result of the cooling process.
History
Perth Mint was founded in 1899 as the third branch mint of the Royal Mint. The final mint to open, the Perth Mint is the only one of the three still operational today. As of 1965, the Royal Australian Mint has served the role of sovereign mint for Australia, while the Perth Mint has been a state-owned entity of Western Australia since the 1970s.
