The Morgan Dollar Silver Coin was issued by the United States Mint in the late-19th century and into the early years of the 20th century. It was the last of the US Mints 19th-century coins to undergo a redesign in the 20th century. The US silver dollar was redesigned in 1921 when it was reintroduced after its 1904 halt. For most of 1921, the US Mint reused the Morgan Dollar Silver Coin design until a new image was ready. You can mark the 100th anniversary of its final release with a new commemorative legal tender note bearing its imagery. Right now, you can buy $1 Morgan Silver Dollar Legal Tender Notes online from Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with a bi-fold presentation display and a Certificate of Authenticity!
  • Honor the 100th anniversary of the final Morgan Dollar Silver Coin release with this commemorative design!
  • Legal tender US Federal Reserve Notes!
  • Bears a face value of $1 (USD) fully backed by the American government.
  • Liberty and the Heraldic Eagle from the Morgan Dollar are enhanced on the obverse of these notes.

With your purchase of $1 Morgan Silver Dollar Legal Tender Notes, you will receive a note that is official legal tender in the US from the Federal Reserve Note series. These notes are crisp, clean, uncirculated notes picked fresh from Federal Reserve packs for enhancing at a private mint. This includes the addition of high-definition graphics on the obverse replicating the appearance of the Morgan Dollar Silver Coin images. Each note comes with its own bi-fold presentation display and a Certificate of Authenticity.

Obverse

Lady Liberty and the Heraldic Eagle feature on the obverse side of $1 Morgan Silver Dollar Legal Tender Notes. At the center of the design is the left-profile effigy of Lady Liberty created in 1878 by George T. Morgan. The design shows Liberty with the markings from the coin enhanced on these notes. This includes E Pluribus Unum above the portrait, Liberty below, and 13 stars around her figure. The heraldic eagle created by Morgan features on the left side of the note, with commemorative bicentennial dates of 1921 and 2021 on this side.

Reverse

The traditional dollar bill design is found in the reverse of $1 Morgan Silver Dollar Legal Tender Notes. The image shown here was approved by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1935 and features the denomination in the center as ONE, with the all-seeing eye atop the pyramid on the left and the Great Seal of the United States on the right.

History

Morgan Dollar Silver Coins were last struck in 1921. The reintroduction of the US silver dollar in 1921 came after a 17-year halt in silver coining. The Morgan design was chosen to grace the coins in 1921 upon reintroduction, but required Morgan to recreate the dies for coining as the originals had been lost after coining initially halted in 1904.
