Known in the United States as the buffalo, the American bison is the largest land mammal on the North American continent and has played a pivotal role in the history of cultures in this region of the world. Bison were a primary source of meat and materials to indigenous tribes, but were also revered within the mythology and religion of these tribes. Today, the bison remains a symbol of the power and majesty of North Americas wild landscape. 1 oz Copper Bison Bars are now available to you for purchase online from Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with an individual flip, an acrylic tube of 20 bars, or a box of 500 copper bars!
  • Stunning American bison design!
  • Contains 1 AVDP oz of .999 pure copper.
  • On the obverse is an American bison.
  • The reverse features a common theme for bars from this mint.

There are two living bison species in the world. The North American bison consists of two subspecies, the American bison and the woodland bison, and then there is the European bison. In the United States and Canada, bison are held in high regard among indigenous tribes.

Obverse

On the obverse of Copper Bison Bars is a depiction of a massive American bison. The large buffalo is captured in great detail with a shaggy mane, large hump, and massive head. The figure is shown on a small patch of grass within a circular portrait field. The inscriptions on this field of the coin read COPPER, .999 FINE, and ONE AVDP OZ.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 1 oz Copper Bison Bar comes with an ornate design field. The border areas feature ornate detailing with a circular center field. Within that circle, you will find a version of the US national shield with eagles wings supporting it. There is an American flag above the wings and shield, with inscriptions around this of COPPER .999 FINE and ONE AVDP OUNCE.

History

The American bison has featured on countless forms of American currency, from the 1901 $10 Bison Legal Tender Note to the 1913 Buffalo Nickel. Today, you will find the bison on the reverse of the American Buffalo Gold Coin, a bullion piece replicating the designs of the historic Buffalo Nickel.

Ordering

These 1 oz Copper Bison Bars are available in protective flips. Multiples come with acrylic tubes of 20 bars or boxes of 500 bars. The boxes can hold 25 tubes of 20 copper bars each.
