The Founding Fathers of the United States of America selected the bald eagle as the official emblem of the new nation. The bald eagle was chosen for its majesty, longevity, and power, all factors that the Founding Fathers hoped would be bestowed upon the American people as time went on. Today, you have the opportunity to purchase 1 oz Copper Eagle Rounds online at Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with an individual flip, a mint tube of 16, or a box of 400 rounds!
  • Powerful gaze of the American bald eagle depicted!
  • Contains 1 AVDP oz of .999 pure copper.
  • The obverse features the head of an American bald eagle gazing to the distance.
  • On the reverse is another bald eagle, this one featured in mid-flight.

The bald eagle is a massive bird of prey found on the North American continent and is part of the sea eagle species. The bald eagle has two known subspecies and exists as a species pair with the white-tailed eagle. You can find the bald eagle throughout most of Alaska, Canada, the contiguous United States, and the northern states of Mexico.

Obverse

The obverse side of 1 oz Copper Eagle Rounds comes with two of the most important American symbols. In the foreground is the head of an American bald eagle with its focused, powerful gaze scanning the horizon as it looks to the left. The background field includes the American flag. Known as Old Glory and the Stars and Stripes, the American flag has alternating red and white stripes numbering 13 in all to represent the original colonies. The upper-left has a field of blue with 50 white stars in its modern version to represent all of the current states in the Union.

Reverse

On the reverse side of 1 oz Copper Eagle Rounds, you will find a common design element. This vision depicts the American bald eagle in mid-flight with its back to the viewer and its wings spread wide as its talons reach out below its body. There are also initials of USA on this side with a single star and the SilverTowne pick ax mint mark at the bottom.

History

Bald eagles typically live nearly large bodies of open water that offer a solid food supply and boast old-growth trees in the area for nesting. Bald eagles are known for many different characteristics, including the size of the nests the birds build. The bald eagle builds the largest nest of any bird in North America and the largest tree nest of any animal species. The average bald eagle nest is up to 13 feet deep, 8.2 feet wide and can weigh as much as 1 metric ton.
