The obverse side of each coin shows the shield that Chiwoo uses in battle. This shield has the image of Do ggae bi on it. Do ggae bi is a mythical creature that is said to ward off evil spirits. Also on this side of the coin, youll notice engravings of the year of issue, mint of issue, nation of issue, metal content, purity, and value of the coin.
Reverse
On the reverse side of each 1 oz Gold 2018 South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang , you will notice the image of Chiwoo riding his horse into battle. Chiwoo is known as a God of War. In the image, he holds his massive sword at the ready with a full suit of armor and a horned helmet.
History
These coins are the third release of the Chiwoo Cheonwang series. Chiwoo was a tribal leader of the Nine Li tribe in ancient China. He is known as one of the founding fathers of China. Chiwoo is known for fighting against the future Yellow Emperor. Rumor has it that Chiwoo could control the weather and summon fog. Some even say he possesses four eyes and six arms.
