On the obverse of 1 Gold South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Medals, you will find an updated depiction of Do ggae bi. This image shows the mythical creature on the shield of Chiwoo Cheonwang. His grotesque appearance is softened in some ways by the smiling nature of the design, though some images have become more prominent, such as the brows, flared nostrils, and horns. Inscriptions include REPUBLIC OF KOREA, 1 CLAY, 2021 FINE GOLD 999, and KOMSCO.
Reverse
The reverse side of Gold 2021 South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Medals comes with a new depiction of Chiwoo Cheonwang. In this design, Chiwoo is in the foreground pounding on a massive war drum as the 12 Guardians begin to assemble behind him in the background field of the medal. Inscriptions on this side read CHIWOO CHEONWANG.
History
Each release in the Chiwoo Cheonwang Series has offered a new depiction of Chiwoo on the reverse. In 2020, the obverse image of Do ggae bi on the shield of Chiwoo was also updated to a different historical image of the figure.
