Author Ian Fleming came up with the concept of a British secret agent code-named 007 in 1952. History

Eon Productions holds the official rights to produce Flemings novels as feature films. The first Bond film was released in 1962 with Sean Connery portraying the lead role. Connery featured in the first five films in a row, and six of the first seven. Roger Moore has portrayed Bond the most in Eon Productions films, playing the lead role in seven consecutive films from 1973 to 1985. Connery has played Bond six times in Eon Productions films, and once in the 1983 Taliafilm production of Never Say Never Again.
