The pack includes a capsule at the center for the bar and an assay card around it. This assay card features the name of the series on one side, with the weight, purity, metal content, and serial number for the bar on the other side.

Obverse

On the obverse side of the 1 oz Gold Lunar Goat Bar is the image of a male goat standing amidst tall grass. The goat is depicted in a stoic stance amidst the grass as it looks out for any threats that might be on the horizon. As with other bars in the series, the Chinese symbol for the goat is featured on this side of the bar. The goat depicted in this design has long, shaggy fur with tall, spiraled horns.

Reverse

The reverse face of the 1 oz Gold Lunar Goat Bar showcases the same adult goat from the obverse, but this time it is viewed from behind. The goat strikes such a stoic pose on the obverse because, as you can see on the reverse, it is defending a younger goat behind its figure nestled within the tall grass.

History

The Lunar Calendar Series of gold bars from PAMP Suisse introduces new designs for each animal in the 12-year cycle of the Zodiac. The Year of the Goat design found on these bars was produced only throughout 2015. The Zodiac has a 12-year cycle with a different animal for each year and follows a cycle from the Year of the Mouse, first, to the Year of the Pig, last.
