Platinum bullion coins are available from a growing number of mints in the 21st century. The platinum precious metals market was once limited to bullion bars and a select number of bullion coin programs. Today, with platinums popularity again on the rise, the variety of available platinum bullion coins is growing. Right now, you can buy 1 oz Platinum Coins in varied conditions and designs online at Provident Metals.

  • Arrives with a protective plastic flip!
  • Available in varied conditions and designs!
  • Offered from any mint!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .9995 pure platinum.
  • Bears face values backed by the issuing mint and nation.
  • Obverse and reverse designs vary by program.
  • Please keep in mind you may get several matching coins if you purchase more than one.

With your purchase of a 1 oz Platinum Coin in this product listing from Provident Metals, you will receive a 1 oz Platinum Coin that is housed inside of a protective plastic flip. In the event original mint packaging is available, you will receive that, but all other coins come in flips. Please note that this is a varied condition, varied mint, and random year listing.

As such, Provident Metals selects your coins at random once your payment has been processed. We are not able to promise in advance a particular coin, its condition, its design, or the mint that produced it. If you buy more than one, please keep in mind you could get several coins that have the same conditions, designs, and mint of origin.

1 oz Platinum Coins are the primary offering when it comes to platinum bullion coin programs. Though series such as the Canadian Maple Leaf and American Eagle once offered fractional-ounce platinum bullion coins, today these series and many others come only with a 1 oz platinum option.

As one example of a coin you could receive, consider the American Eagle Platinum Coin. Introduced in 1997, it features an effigy of the Statue of Liberty on the obverse designed by John Mercanti with an American bald eagle in flight on the reverse designed by Thomas D. Rogers.

The Canadian Maple Leaf Platinum Coin features Walter Otts iconic sugar maple leaf design on the reverse, with a bust of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse of the coins. Available since 1988, you may find one of three portraits of the Queen on the obverse depending on the date mark.

Other coins you may receive include the British Britannia Platinum coin introduced in 2018, the Somalia Elephant Platinum coin introduced in 2016, or the Austrian Philharmonic Platinum Coin, also introduced in 2016.
