Rhenium is a stable element and was discovered by Walter Noddack, Ida Tacke, and Otto Berg. Named for the Rhine River in Europe, rhenium was the last stable element discovered and is, by some measures anyway, considered the rarest stable element. Some numbers put its presence in the Earths crust at 1 part per billion, while another suggests it is actually 700 parts per trillion.
Designs
On the obverse of 1 oz Rhenium Square Bars, you will find the identifying hallmarks and the company logo. The top of the bar features RE and 75, the Atomic symbol and number for the metal. In the middle, the inscriptions read RHENIUM, ONE OUNCE, and 99.95% PURE. At the bottom, the bar features the Luciteria Science logo. The reverse of Rhenium Square Bars is blank.
History
Rhenium has an annual production of just 50 tons. Given its rarity within the Earths crust and its low annual production, rhenium is rarer than gold and more affordable, but the latter may not last for long as demand grows.
