In 2019, the Germania Mint produced a wide new range of silver bullion products for investors and collectors to purchase. Among these debut programs, the Germania Mint offered its Allegories Series, Oak Leaf Rounds, and the Germania Series. The latter features the female personification of Germany and the symbol of the Germania Mint. Provident Metals now offers 1 oz Silver 2020 Germania Rounds to you for purchase online.
When you buy the 1 oz Silver 2020 Germania Round online at Provident Metals, the specimens you receive are available with an individual protective plastic capsule to house the round. Each one of the rounds is available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. This is the second release of the Germania Series and comes with a fresh design for the 2020 date mark.
Germania is featured on the obverse side of 1 oz Silver 2020 Germania Rounds. The female personification of Germany, and now the Germania Mint, is depicted on the obverse in left-profile relief with a cape around her shoulders blowing in the wind and a double-headed eagle landing on her left forearm. The forearm has a leather shield on it to protect her from the sharp talons of the eagle. Inscriptions include Germania 2020 and 1 oz 999.9 Fine Silver.
The emblem of the Germania Mint, as inspired by Roman Legion symbols, is featured on the reverse of 1 oz Silver 2020 Germania Rounds. The double-headed eagle is front-facing with one head looking to the past and the other toward the future. Each talon of the bird holds a corkscrew style arrow with fern leaves framing the design element. Inscriptions here read 5 Mark above the shield and Germania below the shield.
The Ancient Greeks and Romans described encountering savage tribes in north-central Europe that were skilled and ferocious in battle. The Romans were the first to assign a name to both the people of these tribes and the region at large. The first written record of the word Germania came from the 1st century BC when it was used to refer to the region east of the Rhine River and north of the Danube River.
