History

Sitting Bull was an extremely influential leader with the Lakota as the chief of the Hunkpapa. He was responsible for leading his peoples resistance against the continued encroachment of European-American settlers moving west into indigenous homelands during the 19^th century. He was also heavily involved in the Battle of the Little Bighorn that saw an indigenous confederation of tribes soundly defeat the 7^th Cavalry of the U.S. Army.
