The German and Austrian people enjoy close ties with one another that are built, historically, on geographic proximity. This design includes a quartered shield that boasts a double-headed eagle in the first quadrant, a checkered pattern in the second, a ribbon with three flowers in the third, and a wild boar in the fourth. The shield is topped by a crown, flanked by an oak wreath, and surrounded by inscriptions of GERMANIA, 2021, and 5 MARK.
