Fans of epic battles often cite Thermopylae in 480 BC as one of the all-time greats. On the eve of the legendary battle, Xerxes advised King Leonidas to retreat and surrender his weapons. With strength and resolve, Leonidas stood strong and merely replied molon labe, meaning come and take it. Right now, you can buy 2023 Molon Labe 1 oz Silver Rounds online at Provident Metals.

History
During the Greco-Persian War, Xerxes led his powerful forces into Greece, causing Athens to panic. The city turned to Sparta, which was famous for its highly-trained army. While the odds were not in their favor, Leonidas led an army of roughly 7,000 soldiers to meet nearly 200,000 Persians at the Battle of Thermopylae. The Persians did in fact emerge victorious, but not without suffering tremendous damage at the hands of the intrepid Spartans. This effort ignited a spark in the Greeks, and they realized that while the battle was lost, there was hope yet to win the war.
