For centuries, the dove has symbolized peace in cultures and religions around the world. Its origins as a symbol of peace can be traced to the Bible, specifically to the story of Noahs Ark. In the tale, a dove returns with an olive branch, signaling the end of the flood and the start of a new era. The Holy Land Mint has used the Dove of Peace in its silver round series for over a decade. Today, 1 oz Silver 2024 Dove of Peace Rounds from The Holy Land Mint are available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 1 oz Silver 2024 Dove of Peace Round is shipped in an individual plastic capsule and comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. This release marks the 11th issue of the popular series, which debuted in 2014.
Obverse
On the obverse of Silver 2024 Dove of Peace Rounds, the design features a dove flying peacefully with an olive branch in its beak. The dove is shown soaring over the Old City Walls of Jerusalem under a starry night sky, with its wings spread in left-profile relief. The inscription on this side reads DOVE OF PEACE.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Silver Dove of Peace Round includes the Holy Land Mint emblem, positioned in the center. The date of issue is located beneath the emblem, while the weight, metal content, and purity are inscribed around the designs edge. Inscriptions here read JERUSALEM, THE HOLY LAND MINT, 2024, ONE TROY OUNCE, and .999 FINE SILVER.
History
In addition to the dove, these rounds showcase Jerusalem’s Old City Walls, a central element of the series’ design. The current walls were built in the 16th century under Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. They span approximately 2.8 miles, surrounding the Old City, and are known for their seven unique gates, each with its own history and meaning.
