Collectors of the Germania Silver Round series from the Germania Mint have followed this allegorical figures journey since the series began in 2019. Over the years, each design has depicted Germania overcoming obstacles in her quest to become Queen of the Germanic people. The 2025 release brings this chapter of her story to a close. Right now, Provident Metals has the 1 oz Silver 2025 Germania Round available for purchase.
Highlights:
Each 1 oz Silver 2025 Germania Round is individually packaged in an acrylic capsule and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Germania Mint. As with previous releases, the obverse artwork provides a broader view of Germanias surroundings, reflecting the progression of her story.
Obverse
The obverse of the Silver 2025 Germania Round presents Germania standing at the end of her journey. Similar to the original 2019 design, she appears in front-facing relief, holding a wooden shield in her left hand marked with the double-headed eagle. In her right hand, she grips a sword, and now, for the first time in the series, she wears a crown, representing her ascension as Queen of the Germanic people. Inscriptions include GERMANIA, 2025, and 1 OZ AG 999.9.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 1 oz Silver Germania Round, the Germania Mints signature bicephalous eagle is displayed. This two-headed eagle is a historic emblem representing both remembrance of the past and a forward-looking perspective. It holds lightning bolts in its talons, flanked by olive branches. Inscriptions read 5 MARK and GERMANIA.
History
Germania has a long history as a national symbol, dating back to ancient Roman accounts of Germanic tribes. However, she became especially prominent in the 19th century, representing unity and national identity. During the Napoleonic Wars, she was often depicted as a determined warrior or a distressed maiden, symbolizing resistance against foreign rule.
