The Norse God Series collection includes five total obverse designs for the gods Odin, Thor, Hel, Freya, and Loki. Each round design is available in 1 oz or 5 oz rounds. The Norse God Series rounds exhibit mirrored, proof finish with subtle antique qualities that give them a warm appearance.

Obverse

The obverse of the 1 oz Silver Antique Norse God Series Loki Round showcase the image of Loki, the God of Mischief. Loki was known for his ability to shapeshift, which he often did to disrupt other gods. The detailed artwork displays Loki wearing warrior armor and holding a staff in his left hand. Engravings on the obverse include Loki towards the top and God of Mischief on the bottom.

Reverse

On the reverse, you will find the design of Odins Valkyrie, maiden warriors who were name selectors of the dead. The image depicts Valkyrie on horseback holding arming. It is believed that the Valkyrie ride through the sky above battlefields, determining who will survive and who will die. Valkyrie and Chooser of the Slain are both inscribed on the reverse as well as the rounds weight, purity, and metal content.

History

The Anonymous Mint works with Osborne Precious Metals to produce the Norse God Series. Julie Lindquist is the leading designer for Anonymous Metals. All of the artwork on these rounds is by Howard David Johnson, who worked with the sculptor Luigi Badia to bring his pieces to life. Osborne Precious Metals has the title of the oldest private mint in American, dating back to 1836.
