Obverse

On the obverse of the Silver Colorized Georgia State Flag Bar, youll find the Scottsdale Lion, the Scottsdale Mint name, and identifying hallmarks. The weight, metal content, and purity of the bar are listed at the top of the obverse.

Reverse

The reverse side of 1 oz Silver Colorized Georgia State Flag Bars displays the current Georgia state flag. This design is inspired by the first national flag of the Confederacy, known as the “Stars and Bars,” and includes the states coat of arms. The 13 stars represent Georgia as one of the original 13 colonies.

History

The current flag, adopted in 2003, was designed to be a compromise that acknowledged the state’s history while removing explicit Confederate battle imagery. Despite its similarity to the first national flag of the Confederacy, it has been more widely accepted than its immediate predecessors. The flag is now flown over state buildings, schools, and other public institutions throughout Georgia.
