The Nutcracker has become a treasured symbol of Christmas, easily recognized during the holiday season. Originating from German folklore, these decorative nutcrackers were originally made as wooden figurines that resembled soldiers or kings. While their main purpose was to crack nuts, they have transformed into decorative pieces associated with good luck and protection against evil spirits. Right now, 1 oz Silver Colorized Nutcracker Rounds are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 1 oz Silver Colorized Nutcracker Round comes packaged in a convenient plastic ornament capsule. The capsule features a small loop at the top, allowing you to easily hang your silver round on your holiday tree by attaching a string or hook.
Obverse
On the obverse of the Silver Colorized Scottsdale Nutcracker Round, youll find the well-known Scottsdale Lion emblem, beautifully centered within a circle of festive wreath boughs. The seal surrounding the logo displays the coins hallmarks against a snowflake-covered background in the outer ring. Inscriptions here include GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST, AND ON EARTH PEACE, GOOD WILL TOWARD MEN, ONE TROY OZ 9999 SILVER, and SCOTTSDALE MINT.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Silver Colorized Nutcracker Round features a festive design of a toy nutcracker. This soldier wears the classic military hat of the 19th century with a red-and-green coat, along with blue pants. He stands proudly in a snowy scene, with gentle snowflakes falling in the background.
History
The Nutcracker’s status as a Christmas icon grew significantly after Tchaikovsky’s ballet “The Nutcracker” premiered in 1892. This enchanting tale of a young girl’s Christmas Eve adventure with a magical Nutcracker prince captured the hearts of audiences worldwide. Today, Nutcracker figurines are popular holiday decorations and collectibles, ranging from traditional styles to more whimsical interpretations. Their presence in homes, stores, and holiday displays further cements the Nutcracker’s status as a beloved symbol of Christmas.
