History

The franchise dates back to 1894, beginning as the Sioux City Cornhuskers before settling in Chicago in 1900. As one of the American Leagues charter teams in 1901, the White Sox established themselves quickly and won the 1906 World Series. The 1919 Black Sox Scandal became one of baseballs most infamous events and marked a major chapter in the teams history. After decades without a title, the White Sox returned to championship form with their 2005 World Series sweep.
