History

The Browns were founded in 1946 by businessman Mickey McBride and named in honor of their first coach, Paul Brown. Brown introduced many ideas that changed how football was played and coached. The team immediately became dominant, winning four straight championships in the All-America Football Conference before moving into the NFL in 1950. Success followed them into the league, with championships earned in 1950, 1954, 1955, and 1964.
