Obverse
The obverse of the Silver NFL New York Jets Round includes the teams logo as it is recognized today. The design presents JETS in bold, italic lettering, paired with the franchises green-and-white colors that reflect motion and energy. Adopted in 1998, this logo took the place of older versions that often included airplane-inspired elements. The inscriptions here read NEW YORK JETS and EST. 1960.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Silver New York Jets Round displays the leagues official emblem. The shield features the letters NFL in the center with a football above. The ball separates two rows of four stars, a detail that highlights the divisions within both conferences of the league. History
The franchises history dates back to 1960 when the team was introduced as the New York Titans as part of the American Football League. After being purchased by new owners in 1963, the team was renamed the New York Jets and relocated to Shea Stadium. Their most famous moment came at the end of the 1968 season when Joe Namath guided the Jets to a surprise win in Super Bowl III over the heavily favored Colts.
