Freya is depicted on the obverse of 1 oz Silver Norse God Series Freya Rounds as she rides her chariot. The chariot of Freya is driven by two powerful cats and she wears a cloak of falcon feathers as another falcon flies in the sky overhead. Freya is believed to have the power to shape shift courtesy of that cloak, as it allows her to transform into a falcon. The inscriptions on this face of the silver rounds include Freya and Goddess of Love.

Reverse

A Valkyrie rider is shown in the reverse of Silver Norse God Series Freya Rounds. This design element is a poignant combination with Freya in this release as Freya is more than just the Goddess of Love, she is the leader of the Valkyrie. The members of the Valkyrie are warrior maidens chosen by Odin. Together with Odin, these female warriors decide who will live and who will die in the battles of mankind. The inscriptions feature Valkyrie, Chooser of the Slain, and 1 Ounce .999 Fine Silver.

History

As the leader of the Valkyrie, Freya has her own glorious hall, Sessrymner. When her Valkyrie determine who lives and dies, half of those who die go to Freyas hall and the other half are sent to the hall of Odin, Valhalla, in Asgard. As with Thor, Freya is honored with a day of the week named after her. Originally known as Freya day, today you know this day of the week as Friday.
