Rather, the goal is to put together the two most favored precious metals in a single item that has a thin layer of 24-karat gold overlying design elements above the background field.

Obverse

The obverse field of 1 oz Silver Norse God Series Thor Rounds offers an image of Thor. A powerful figure with a thick, red beard, Thor is one of the most important gods in Norse mythology. The design elements offer a view of Thor standing on the back of his chariot as his faithful goats drive the chariot across the skies. Thor reaches out his hand as he prepares to hurl Mjolnir. Bolts of lightning gather in the sky above and emanate down toward the hammer. Inscriptions on this side of the round include Thor and God of Thunder.

Reverse

On the reverse design of the Silver Norse God Series Thor Round, you will find a design reflecting a member of the Valkyrie. The female warriors of the Valkyrie are chosen directly by Odin and work with the All-Father God to select who lives and who dies when the armies of mortals meet on the field of battle. Valkyrie ride on powerful steeds with winged helmets, shields, and swords. The inscriptions feature Valkyrie, Chooser of the Slain, and 1 Ounce .999 Fine Silver.

History

The Norse God Series was previously available from the Anonymous Mint in two collections. The first was the 1 oz proof silver round collection, featuring each of the five designs in these continuation series. Next up was a series with 1 oz and 5 oz silver antique rounds. Now, the designs are available again in a 1 oz BU silver option and a 1 oz gold-plated silver option.
