For those closely following the releases of the American Legacy Collection, the third of these iconic American coin designs is that of President Abraham Lincoln. The 16th President of the United States is remembered as a unifier and the man who preserved the Union by leading the nation through the Civil War and reuniting North and South. His bust has featured on the US penny since 1909 and comes to the American Legacy Collection across three different versions of silver rounds. Provident Metals now offers you the chance to have the 1 oz Silver Proof Domed American Legacy Lincoln Penny Round.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with protective capsules and a numbered Certificate of Authenticity!
  • 3rd design issued in the American Legacy Collection of silver rounds!
  • Limited mintage of just 10,000 silver rounds!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • On the obverse and reverse side of the silver rounds is the bust of President Abraham Lincoln.
  • Unique serial numbers featured on the edges of the rounds.
  • Art originally created by Victor D. Brennan in 1909.

Silver Proof Domed American Legacy Lincoln Penny Rounds are carefully packaged by the Osborne Mint to protect the beautiful domed surfaces and designs. Each round is housed individually inside of a custom-fitted capsule and comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The number on the COA matches that on the edge of the round.

Obverse

The obverse face of 1 oz Silver Proof Domed American Legacy Lincoln Penny Rounds has a domed surface that brings 10 times depth of visual appeal to the right-profile bust of President Abraham Lincoln. The design jumps off the surface of the round enabling you to view the intricate details of his hair and beard, with his shoulders emerging from the surface of the round as well.

Included inscriptions on this face of the silver round match those from the original 1909 introduction of the Lincoln Wheat Penny. Liberty is inscribed behind his neck, In God We Trust over his head, the 1909 date mark of the initial release, and the S mint mark honoring the San Francisco Mint as the production facility.

Reverse

For the reverse field, the Osborne Mint offers the opposite portrait of President Lincoln. The 1 oz Silver Proof Domed American Legacy Lincoln Penny Rounds have a left-profile bust of Lincoln sunk into the surface of the round on this side.

History

Lincoln Pennies debuted from the US Mint in 1909 in what has become known as the Wheat Penny. That original penny design featured Victor D. Brennans bust of Lincoln on the obverse and wheat stalks on the reverse. It was used until 1958.
