The Apollo 11 mission lasted only eight days, but it is one of the most successful journeys from NASA. The Apollo 11 spacecraft launched on July 16, 1969. Four days later, the craft would reach the surface of the moon, marking the first time humans had ever touched down on a different celestial body.

Obverse
