Obverse
The obverse of the Silver Reverse Proof PRCA Tiedown Roping Round features the PRCA logo centered within a shield. The image showcases a cowboy riding a horse alongside the organizations initials. Surrounding the artwork is a braided-rope border, along with inscriptions identifying the PRCAs full name, the rounds silver weight, purity, and metal content. The inscriptions include PROFESSIONAL RODEO COWBOYS ASSOCIATION, PRORODEO, PRCA, .999 SILVER, and 1 TROY OZ.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 1 oz Silver Reverse Proof PRCA Tiedown Roping Round, youll find a cowboy in action during the tiedown roping competition. In this event, the cowboy must rope a calf, dismount, and quickly tie any three of its legs together with a piggin stringa short rope traditionally held in the cowboys teethusing a knot that must stay secure for six seconds after the roper remounts and the rope goes slack. The inscriptions read TIE-DOWN ROPING and PRO RODEO COWBOYS ASSOCIATION.
History
Tiedown roping, often called calf roping, reflects one of the original ranching skills practiced in the American West. It takes speed, coordination, and precision as the cowboy rides after a calf, ropes it, and then ties it down while the horse maintains rope tension to keep the calf steady.
