The obverse features a beautiful eastern design within a Chinese scroll frame. The coin’s denomination is displayed in two languages: Chinese and Jawi Malay.
The reverse depicts the same iconic, helmet-wearing Brittania as the original British Silver Trade Dollar. Brittania stands tall with her eyes on the horizon, grasping the British shield in her left hand and a trident in her right. Behind her, a loaded ship under full sail strikes out for distant shores. It is framed in the same beautiful Chinese scroll pattern as the obverse, with the round’s weight and fineness encircling the image.
The 1 oz British Trade Dollar is produced by the privately-operated Golden State Mint (GSM).
