I bought 20 of the Provident Mint version of this coin…perfect…got 20 of the GSM version…12 of the 20 were under weight by at least .1g…..4 were .3 light…they look nice…but I won’t buy from GSM ever again…

Received order of 20 coins in tube in great condition. Only a very very few slight blemishes, no nicks. Coin is very attractive, both Indian head on obverse and buffalo on reverse done in a satin finish with a mirror-like background. A nice addition to any collection of rounds. Two week delivery from order to doorstep, even with a personal check. I expected a longer delay. Thanks Provident.

My wife saw this coin and wanted me to add it to our order. I’m glad I did. It’s a beautiful coin and we received ours clean and without defect. We received it faster than I expected and the packaging was great. I maybe getting a few mor of these.

These are beautiful coins and priced to sale. Why pay higher premium for Eagles or Maples when you can buy these Buffaloes minted by a reputable mint for a much cheaper price? They also hold their value very well, and If your thinking about selling them in the future your best bet will be to sale them back to Provident.

These are one of the most popular and beautiful rounds on the market. However they are classified as “generic” so for some reason most people prefer paying much higher premiums to get Eagles or Maples. I’m a fan of Eagles and Maples but these Buffaloes are the only rounds I’m buying from now on. They are much cheaper, just as beautiful and just as recognizable.

Just received another 180 Buffalos (ordered 4/21 via MO, arrived 5/15), all were bright, shiny and beautiful except one which has a small casting/stamping blemish (not serious enough for me to worry about).
In my earlier review I mentioned I could only fit 21 of these in my tubes whereas an earlier batch of Buffalos will fit 22. Turns out I can fit 22 in some tubes, 21 in others.
Since the tubes are all identical I surmise that perhaps rim thickness is slightly different from round to round, thus accounting for the difference in tube storage capacity.
Regardless, these are my fav generic rounds and I intend to add more in the near future. Thx, Provident!

With the recent large drop of silver prices I thought I would buy some more silver . Wow I’m glad I did. I bought 3 times over a 7 day period to take advantage of the great prices of these rounds. These are awesome. When I saw that the round was on delay, I didn’t expect them for quite awhile. Well i. Was really surprised when I received these rounds in such a quick manner. Great round,great communication, great packing, and a great company thanks again will be back .

Purchased 125 of these as my 2nd order from Provident (ordered 4/15 via check, arrived 5/11), compared them with an earlier run from GSM. What I like about the newer batch is they say “Golden State Mint” right on the round (this is missing from my earlier Buffalos). They’re also slightly thicker as I can store 22 of the earlier batch in a tube but only 21 of the newer batch.
Rounds are bright, polished and beautiful, welcome additions to my stack. However, an average weight test shows the new batch to be slightly underweight (ie: 5 averaged at 4.9998 ozt) whereas the earlier batch is slightly overweight. Now, to be honest, this could be due to my digital scale which is admittedly inexpensive.
Regardless, I’m very happy with these as generics and have another 180 on the way.

Received two tubes today and I like these rounds. I have a couple hundred ounces of various rounds and these are now one of my favorites. They came well packaged and discreet. Actually ordered some of the OPM’s today before I received these. Wish I would have waited. PPM is always great. I have ordered before from other sites but now only use PPM. Best pricing and service in the industry if you ask me.

I’m not really a coin connoisseur, but I was quite disappointed with this coin. It had a couple tiny bumps in the smooth areas, and the Indian head had a worn-looking and feeling patch across the middle. Been really happy with everything else I’ve ordered so far, but not this one. Maybe it was just a fluke.

GSM is well known and should be a great value. Lots of Buffalo look alikes but GSM putting their name on the round confirms quality to buyers. Provident offeres both the GSM and another fine mint to represent the generic buffalo rounds. This Buffalo Silver Round (BSR) is just slightly smaller in diameter than an American Silver Eagle. The BSR weighs-in at 1.005 ozt, which I like.

Not much more I can say about it, it arrived in perfect condition.

These rounds are a great value for any bullion collector. I received my order only 8 days after placing order online. Great service by Provident and a great product. These rounds have such great detail, you can see the ribs on the buffalo. Glad to add these to my stack and I look forward to doing more business with Provident.

I bought other items but for the small list price over melt value these are definitely worth the purchase. Allow 10-14 days from time of purchase for your items to be delivered, customer service is good. Remember if you are ordering multiple items to call them so they can combine the shipping costs.

I was surprised to see how shiny these coins were. They reminded me of proof coins although they weren’t.

They had these going for 69 cents over spot for a couple of days. Nabbed about 50 of them as I couldn’t pass up the deal. I didn’t even really have the money…but figured out a way to scrape enough together.

When you can see the ribs on the Buffalo, I hope I never have to trade these in they are beautiful coins. Almost proof-like the luster on these rounds.

Of the coins and rounds that I have, I always look to have something to sell, if and when necessary – like these rounds.

Likes: Simple. No religious phrases (Latin or English). No connection to the US, when the Dollar fails, except looking like an old nickle. IMHO, marketable to those with Yuan or Euros.

Other: Not in the same category as the coins of similar price:
Can. Maples , Aust. Phillys or Chinese Pandas.

But, Iike these rounds more that any others in class.
