The Stymphalian Birds 1 oz Silver Round, now available at Provident Metals, is the sixth design in the 12 Labors of Hercules series. Each round was struck with one troy ounce of .999 fine silver at the Provident Mint, and will only be available from Feb. 12, 2015 to March 12, 2015.
For his sixth labor Hercules was sent to defeat man-eating Stymphalian birds. The birds had bronze beaks and projectile metallic feathers. King Eurystheus sent Hercules to Arcadia, where the Greek hero startled the birds and shot many down with arrows as they fled from the trees. The remaining birds flew away and never returned.
The reverse of this 1 ounce silver coin features two Stymphalian Birds perched on skulls and bones, and another flying above. The inscription “STYMPHALIAN BIRDS” and “VI” (the roman numeral 6, representing the sixth labor of Hercules) surrounds the silver birds. The obverse of this silver coin carries a portrait of Hercules with “1 oz CMXCIX FINE SILVER” inscribed beside him.
The Stymphalian Birds 1 oz Silver Round is a striking continuation of the 12 Labors of Hercules series. Each coin was minted in an IRA approved facility, thereby insuring the highest quality of production, and qualifying each of these 1 oz silver rounds for inclusion in Precious Metals IRAs. All rounds will ship in mint-fresh condition; individual coins will ship in plastic envelopes, quantities of 20 in plastic tubes, and quantities of 500 in Provident Metals Patent Pending Monster Boxes.
Celebrate this heroic tale by investing in the 1 oz Silver Stymphalian Birds Silver Round from Provident Metals. Order online or give us a call today before these birds fly away for good.

This is a great series. The coins are beautiful and Provident has kept them affordable. Best of all, the coins are issued monthly, so those of us who have a few years on us don't have to wait "forever" to fill in our collector book."
