These rounds were crafted by Liberty Mint and Constitution Mint, mints based in Provo, Utah, and active in the 1970s and 1980s.

Obverse

On the obverse of each U.S.S. Constitution Ship Silver Round, youll find a depiction of Old Ironsides sailing the seas. Today, the USS Constitution is preserved as a museum ship in Boston Harbor, maintained by U.S. Navy personnel. Undergoing regular restorations to keep her historical character intact, her last major restoration was completed in 2017. The ship can still sail and occasionally does so for special events, demonstrating her lasting craftsmanship and the skill that went into her 200-year-old construction.

Reverse

The reverse side of each 1 oz Constitution Ship Silver Round features Article 1, Section 10 from the Constitution, which reads, NO STATE SHALLMAKE ANYTHING BUT GOLD AND SILVER COIN A TENDER IN PAYMENT OF DEBT. Hallmarks of the round also appear on this side.

History

The Constitutions design was groundbreaking for her time, combining heavy armament and speed that made her formidable in battle.
